![]() I have likely overlooked some other books of value. Due to current scarcity, if you just get two interested parties you could get a good price of those as well.Īs most of the books in the photo are in original wrap, you might realize somewhat higher prices, but shipping from Canada will probably reduce your price a bit. Twenty Thousand Leagues and Thus spoke Zarathustra have no current listings on ebay and only one listing each on Abebooks (both at $156). ![]() The Dark is Rising: $120 (or all five of the series together for $300 ) The below prices are in USD, I just very quickly estimated the average, no exact calculation: >13 muirwa: Below is some sales history from ebay (average listing will be much higher, but these are average actually realized prizes). Irish Myths and Legends (leather, Lady Gregory, not Yeats)Īctually, now it almost looks as if it might be easier to list the ones FOR bulk sale. Peter and Wendy (am I mixing this with Peter Pan? are they both sought after?) Wainwright set is not Folio Society but is valuable Icelandic Sagas (looks like the 1-volume compilation-not sure if that one is as expensive as separate?) The Fairy Tale Books (looks like there may be a full set at least, the highly sought after Orange volume is there) I'll gather my suggestions so far-based on what I gather is most sought after/most expensive second-hand: Then later they could concentrate on finding a better deal for the rest. ![]() Perhaps we could pitch in to make a list of books, based on muirwa's photos, that are definitely NOT to be sold in bulk? If they are in a hurry to clear space-housing that many books could be a problem that might make one forgo profit-perhaps they could dispose quickly of at least the bulk of common standard editions. Just the latest of many examples I could quote, True collectors will very happily pay you much more. A week later the dealer had it listed for £850. I have in mind a good friend who very recently sold a desirable set on eBay for £250 to a quite well-known dealer. I can only wish you the best of luck and beg you not to turn this hugely desirable lot over to a dealer. ![]() Facing that mountain of books I'd be as daunted as you are. If I were you I'd be looking for someone to sell on your behalf on a commission basis if you don't want the job and you have no friends or family willing to help out. They'll be drooling all over themselves seeing pics such as those and making very "competitive" offers around 5% (if you're very lucky) of what your aunt paid for them, whereas with the books being so very recent you can probably expect to get ten times that, and much more on the hard to find volumes that people are desperate for. The alternative is to make some greedy dealer rich and very happy. >14 LolaWalser: you really would best be advised to go over them individuallyĪfter a very cursory glance I can only agree 100% with Lola\s opinion. >13 muirwa: (Only the books purchased in the last year or two). ![]()
